The founding cohort

Someone has to
sit down first.

Every cohort is a chicken-and-egg problem. We’re not going to pretend otherwise — because the honesty is the point.

The chicken & the egg

Founders want investors and operators in the room before they commit. Investors want quality founders before they show up. Builders want real projects; thinkers want people who’ll act, not just nod. Everyone waits for everyone else to go first.

So nothing starts — unless a few trusted people sit down before the proof exists. That’s the founding cohort. Not the people who join once it’s obvious. The people who make it obvious.

The bull & the bear — both, straight

▲ The bull case

Why being early is the whole point.

  • You don’t join a network — you form one. The norms, the principles, the room itself are still soft clay. Founding members shape them.
  • First pick of everything. Ideas, builds, collaborators, trust and relationships — outsized, precisely because you were here before they were valuable.
  • Asymmetric upside, tiny cost. The reputation and relationships compound for years; the price of entry is your presence, not your capital.
  • Trust is built small and early. The deepest relationships form in the first rooms, before anyone’s fighting to get in. Trust is the new reach.
  • Founding standing is permanent. You can’t join the founding cohort later. There’s exactly one chance to be first.
▼ The bear case

And the honest risks of going first.

  • It’s early. The room is small. There are no flagship outcomes to point to yet — just intent, and the people willing to back it.
  • It might not work. A movement is a bet, and bets fail. We can’t promise it becomes what we believe it can.
  • Your time is the cost. Presence is the whole ask, and time is your scarcest asset. That’s a real price.
  • No guarantees. Not of deals, not of returns, not that the exact right people show up in the exact right order.
  • You’re trusting the vouch. Until the trust is earned in the room, you’re taking strangers — vouched by strangers — on faith.

Why we show you both

We could hide the bear case. We won’t. The Possible is built on trust, and trust starts by telling you the risk before you take it.

We’d rather you join with your eyes open — because the founding cohort isn’t a product you’re buying. It’s a bet on people, made by people willing to bet on each other. The chicken and egg breaks the moment a few of them decide to go first.
