Inside the room · Build Rooms

Where the seeds
get planted.

Build Rooms are breakout rooms inside The Possible — where an idea goes from a kernel to a working prototype. The runway is covered, the agreements are clear, and nobody walks away out of pocket.

It’s a deal room, turned on its head. The idea to the kernel to the tree — where seeds are planted and nurtured, not pitched and forgotten.

The aim: maximum accelerated coding for ultra-rapid prototyping and building — proving a seed fast. Not multi-team, deep-tech build-outs.

Idea

The spark

A thought worth chasing — brought to the room by someone who wants it proven.

Kernel

The prototype

A working thing that proves it — built fast, against a clear brief.

Tree

The team

If it works, we gather the team via the network and grow it into something real.

How a Build Room works

Idea in. Working prototype out.

Light on process, heavy on clarity. Everyone knows what they’re responsible for, what “done” means, and that no one is paying out of their own pocket.

  1. 01

    Bring the seed

A member commissions an idea worth proving — a kernel, not a finished thing.

  2. 02

    Open the room

The right builder, or builders, join from the network. A mutual NDA is exchanged first if anything sensitive is in play.

  3. 03

    Align the deal

A light, up-front agreement so everyone is aligned: who is responsible for what, the requirements, and what a successful prototype looks like.

  4. 04

    Cover the runway

The real costs — AI-coding tokens, APIs, a host — are named and covered by the commissioner. The builder is never out of pocket.

  5. 05

    Build the prototype

Rapid prototyping against the brief. Days, not quarters — a working thing you can see and touch.

  6. 06

    Show, then decide

Walk away with a working prototype. Keep it as show-and-tell, or gather the team via the network and take it forward.

The runway

You walk away with a working prototype. The builder never walks away out of pocket.

A prototype might need a little AI-coding runway, an API or two, or a host. In a Build Room that runway is named and covered up front, by the commissioner, and laid out in a Spot Cost Contract in the documents area — every domain, host, tool and third-party API, open to scrutiny so there’s no unfair play. The seed gets proven, and nobody is personally out of pocket to do it.

And to be clear: this is not a pathway for free stuff. Costs must be covered and fully transparent; abuse of the room’s building talent will be frowned upon. No freeloaders.

The ground rules

No ambiguity. Nobody out of pocket.

A few simple agreements, set before the work starts, so everyone is aligned and nobody is left carrying a cost — or a question — they didn’t sign up for. These are the headlines; members get the full mechanics — and the Spot Cost Contract — inside the room.

All advice is advisory only. Legal, financial, technical — guidance shared in the room is given in good faith, not as formal professional advice, and creates no client relationship. Get your own counsel before you rely on it.

No titles, no hierarchy

You choose who's in — but nobody wears a label.

A Build Room is private and by selection: the commissioner arranges the ensemble the seed needs, and a neutral member keeps it fair. But these are hats people pick up for a room, not ranks they carry — in the room, everyone is simply a member, judged by what they bring.

Mentoring, live

Or build in the open — for the whole cohort.

Not every room is closed. A cohort build is public to the room — and it’s mentoring in the open: anyone can drop in, join the audience and learn from the masters as the prototype takes shape. Everyone mentors, everyone gets mentored — sometimes that’s one-to-one in a room, sometimes it’s the whole cohort watching a build unfold.

Beyond the room

A starting point, not a cage.

The work doesn't have to live here. Each room gets its own channel in a managed Slack or Discord — joined by invite, broken out to Zoom or a shared repo when it helps — and comes back when it matters: a show-and-tell for the cohort, or a call for wider advice when the seed needs more heads.

Connect through LinkedIn and the room’s channels — never personal phone numbers. We keep personal contact details out of it, so nothing’s exposed if anything is ever compromised.

Credit where it's due

Helped on a build? Take a hat tip.

When someone helps a seed grow, the person they helped tips their hat. It’s the room’s kudos — simple, peer-given recognition that earns real credibility. The more you show up for others, the more hat tips you carry, and the room can see who genuinely helps.

Micro-angel funding

Spot-sponsored seeds.

Some seeds don’t have a commissioner — they have a backer. A Build Room can be spot-sponsored: micro-angel funding that covers the runway so the idea gets proven. In return — and only if it’s agreed up front — the angel gets first right of refusal to take it forward, and the right to tell the story.

A deal room, turned on its head: the capital comes to the seed — before there’s a deck, before there’s a round.

Members only

This is the overview. The rooms are inside.

Anyone can read how Build Rooms work. Opening one, joining one and running the agreements happens in the members’ area — inside the room.
